Imagine you just woke up and you were standing by your closet pondering over today's outfit. You take out the blue shirt and the jeans. No way. A Green shirt? Never. The minutes tick as you constantly pull outfits out of your closet. You finally get dressed after an hour and your intentions of being stylish to school turn into being fashionably late. Would have this ever happened if you wore uniforms? During the middle school and high school years what you are wearing becomes the top priority of most teens but isn't school a place of learning rather than a fashion runway? It is critical that schools require uniforms in order to encourage students to stay focused on their education and not their appearance. First, there would be less teasing and criticizing for wearing the "wrong thing" because everyone would be wearing the same clothes. In other words, appearance won't really matter due to the fact that everyone looks the same. Also, nobody would tell you that you that your outfit is out of style. For example, If you didn't go to a school that wore uniforms you might feel pressured on your clothing choices and your sense of style.Next uniforms can be inexpensive and are easier to shop for than regular clothes. In brief, when you go shopping for school clothes all you have to do is go to a store that sells uniforms for your school. On the other hand, if you don't go to a school with uniforms you might find yourself visiting every store at the mall and only purchasing a shirt. Also you don't need to buy many sets of uniforms because you can wear them twice and then wash them unlike with regular clothes students prefer to wear something different every day. Last, wearing uniforms gives the students a sense of belonging, school spirit and they are easy to identify. All of this means is when everyone is wearing the same clothes they look like a real team and not a group of people who were brought together just because they attend the same clothes. Also, when they go on field trips, the people they pass know that they belong to the same school and they are proud of it. For example, if a student gets lost during school hours, a staff member would be able to find that student easily because he/she would be the only person wearing that specific school uniform. In conclusion, it is obvious that wearing uniforms is a magnificent idea and requiring students to wear uniforms is extremely advantageous in several ways such less teasing and criticizing for wearing the "wrong thing", not to mention uniforms are inexpensive and easy to shop for unlike regular clothes, and finally, uniforms establish a sense of school pride and they make students easy to identify. Although you may say that students have a right to express themselves through clothing, uniforms are reasonable, logical and should be enforced in all schools.
